Megan Morrison - President

I am from Jonesboro, AR and graduated from Jonesboro High school in 2005. I am a Junior and I am majoring in chemistry/ pre-pharmacy. My goal is to go to pharmacy school in Little Rock after 3 years of college. I am active in pre-pharmacy club and the Honors College Association. I have been active in Honors College since my spring semester of my freshman year. I served last year as the Treasurer of the Honors College Association; and now I am excited to say that I am currently the President this year!! I am responsible for presiding at all meetings, promoting Honors College, presenting new ideas to the general membership, creating new committees, and keeping all members informed of all activities and plans.

My name is Ashlie Anderson and I am originally from San Jose, CA. I graduated from Bentonville High School in 2006 and I am currently a sophomore here at ASU. I am majoring in Nursing and was recently accepted into the ASU Nursing program. I want to get my BS in nursing and then go on to graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner. I am active in several groups and clubs on campus, including honors societies, HCA, and the Society for Neuroscience club. I have been active in HCA since the beginning of my college career. I was elected Freshman Representative last year and currently I am the Vice President of HCA.

My name is Kari Panhorst. I am a from Paragould, AR, and currently a freshman here at ASU and majoring in Pre-Professional Biology. With my degree I plan to go on to medical school and become a pediatrician. On campus I tutor algebra for the Upward Bound program and am involved in HCA. As treasurer, I keep up with the associations financial account, collect dues, and create a budget for the clubs many activites.

I am originally from New Delhi, India, but was born in Kuwait. I have been in the United States for more than 10 years. My family lived in Little Rock and moved to Jonesboro in 8th grade. I am a 2005 graduate of Jonesboro High School. I am a Junior and majoring in Biology/Pre-Dental here at ASU; I hope to attend dental school at University of Tennessee in memphis after my 3rd year. I have been an active member of Honors College since my first semester. Last year I was the Sophomore representative and I am carrying over my duties as a Junior representative this year. Apart from HCA, I am a member of Women in Science, Society of Neuroscience, Medical Arts Club, and Colleges against Cancer.

My name is Lacey Ball, and I am from Cabot. I graduated from Cabot High School in 2006. I am a sophomore and I am majoring in mid-level math and science education. I plan on getting my masters degree and becoming a principal. I have been active in Honors College Association since the fall semester of my freshman year. This year I am the Public Relations Officer. I am responsible for the communication between HCA and its members, and the rest of the college. I make all the flyers for HCA events, and I am in charge of the monthly newsletter.

Rachel Smith — Senior Representative

I am a senior English major from Jonesboro. Previously, I have served as Honors College Association Public Relations Director, Secretary, Vice President, and President. This year, I will be a Senior Representative on the HCA Executive Council, and I hope to create events and programs that specifically target important upperclassmen issues such as meeting graduation requirements, completing an Honors thesis, and choosing a great Graduate or Professional School. In 2005, I attended the National Collegiate Honors Council conference in St. Louis, and I helped make a presentation regarding re-invigorating stagnant honors associations. I have also been involved in Student Government Association, Tribal Leaders, Future Alumni Network, and Global Student Leaders.

Adam Jackson — Junior Representative

My name is Adam Jackson, and I am the Sophomore Representative for the Honors College Association. I am a hard working, responsible, and caring person. I graduated from Gosnell High School in 2006. I am also involved in the ASU Pre-Law Club, Phi Alpha Theta, Everybody Doesn’t, and ASU Track and Field. This is my second year with HCA, and I really look forward to the challenges that lay before me. My job is to maintain a steady contact between the HCA and my fellow students. I am also the coordinator of the HCA Intramural teams. If you want to play any Intramural sport for the Honors College, feel free to contact me.

I am a graduate student majoring in mental health counseling and moved to Jonesboro in January 2007 after graduating from Bemidji State University with a BS degree in Applied Psychology. I was born in Minnesota, but am a dual citizen of the US and Germany, and lived in Germany for 10 years. When I am not in class, or working for HCA, you will find me riding my motorcycle, or traveling the world (with Ph.D. student Annabelle McKie) when on school vacation.
