Do I Qualify

[ Eligibility for Honors Study ]

 

Entering Freshmen:

• ACT score of 24 or better
• or a high school GPA of 3.5 or better

 

Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, or Transfer students*
*18 or more credit hours

• Cumulative GPA of 3.25
• Recommendation of advisor


Students can also join Honors in the following ways:

• Special permission of the Dean
• By faculty nomination

[ Graduating from The Honors College ]

 

you can graduate “in Honors” or “with University Honors.”

• To graduate “in Honors” students must have*
  • 18 hours of Honors coursework. 9 of those must be upper-division courses.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • “Honors Program” will appear on diploma if the above criteria are met

    * If a student transfers to ASU with 36 or more hours, they may take 15 or more hours of upper-division work to graduate “in Honors.”

• To graduate with Honors students must have
  • 24 hours of Honors work. 12 hours must be upper-division courses.
  • Complete 2 Honors Courses per year
  • Senior thesis in major or minor area
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • “University Honors Program” will appear on diploma if the above criteria are met
